USA Road Trip - Day 24 to 26

Day 24 was a full day of driving mostly along highway 1 and took us from Monterey, California to Los Angeles!

Some lovely coastal shots.

The very start of Sunset Boulevard
Somewhere on Sunset Boulevard.
We considered doing a little sightseeing along Sunset Boulevard but we were staying with the lovely Eagles family in Orange County and we were already running very late thanks to California traffic.

The next day we headed to Venice Beach with Max, Robyn's son, and their two dogs, Oscar and Felix.  Venice beach was interesting but not really child friendly.  Marc and Max swam while I lounged on the beach with the dogs keeping them safe from the wandering bands of homeless people and general crazies.

Felix and Oscar looking regal.
Max determined to bring as much of the beach home with him as possible.

The next day we decided to visit San Diego.  First stop was Man vs Food location, Lucha Libre, for some delicious Mexican food.  I tried their seafood taco and Marc had the same dish as featured on the show, the Surfin' California burrito, which replaced rice with french fries!  Delicious.

After we completely stuffed ourselves we visited USS Midway, an aircraft carrier that has been opened up to the public.

On our way to La Jolla caves for some ocean kayaking, we stopped off in the old town of San Diego for some touristy goodness.

Our last activity for the day was the aforementioned La Jolla caves.  It involved a tandem kayak, many threats from Marc that he would tip the kayak, and of course caves.

Marc was super excited to get into our tandem kayak
