DALLAS!  The land of fried catfish, overly friendly people and super sized everything.

Our first day of honeymooning has consisted of a lot of this (insert photos of Marc sleeping on plane) and lots of queuing at customs and being questioned by US border security.

But we have managed to squeeze in some touristy crap in the vast metropolis of Grapevine!!

Lunch was at BIG FISH, specialising in all things crawfish, catfish and po-boys.  Also our first experience of southern hospitality and limitless glasses of coke.  As this will be a holiday of many firsts, we did not hesitate in trying the local (New England) clam chowder, gumbo and a dish recommended by the waitress that turned out to be a crawfish spring roll-esque type thing (photos of food have not been included as no matter how hard we tried and no matter how many softening effects we used on the photos we couldn't make them look at all appetising).

It is also freezing here as we weren't really prepared for a North American winter.  We are definitely underdressed but did manage to find a few suitable accessories in some of the local store.

We also stumbled upon the local Grapevine Masonic Lodge.  This rubbed salt in Marc's very open wound as he is constantly being reminded by his father and two of his brothers that he is not a member of this highly regarded/cultish brotherhood.  If only he knew the secret handshake then he too could wear the special apron!

Next stop is Santiago!!
