First stop on the mini break tour is...AC Baby!!!!!!!!!!
Stuck in traffic. We are sure there will be much more of this to come. |
Heading towards the most expensive bridge crossing ever. |
That's right. $13 to use a bridge that wasn't even that great. |
We booked ourselves into the lovely Golden Nugget for two nights with grandiose plans of taking the casino to the cleaners, eating endless amounts of prawns and lobster tails at dirt cheap buffets, and getting comps for everything. None of this was achieved (especially not the buffet part) but the hotel really was lovely.
Our lovely hotel room. |
And the great view |
The weather wasn't great but this didn't stop us from hitting the boardwalk and checking out the sights. AC was a little like Coney Island. A tad outdated and tacky and a little kitschy but fun nonetheless. We checked out a few casinos and lost just enough money to not feel too bad but bad enough that we were happy to leave. We then thought we would have some REAL fun and tried our hand at mini golf.
At the start of the boardwalk. |
Revel Casino and Hotel |
The beach, apparently people swim here. |
This is what we expected the boardwalk to look like!! |
Trump at his best. |
That's right, they sell fried twinkies and fried oreos. I didn't even know you could fry those things. |
Kicking some mini golf butt. |
That night we checked out Kozac the Magician, a wonderful old school comedic magician who has spent numerous years in Las Vegas before coming to Atlantic City.
The next day we left AC and decided to head back to New York via the Jersey Shore. There we two reasons we wanted to visit the Jersey Shore. The first one Marc was aware of and that was to undertake our quest to eat at some of the same places that have been featured on the amazing TV show Man vs Food. The second was for me and that was to see where the amazing show of the same name was set. The place is terrible and I really don't understand the appeal at all.
One of what will hopefully be many stops on our Man vs Food tour of America. |
The "Man" himself. |
The end of our first road trip. |
